Delight of the Day #10: Saying No
It's rare that saying "no" to something will make me feel good. But, when I know I've done what was right for me by saying, "no," I felt like I'd acomplished something.
It was a simple, "no thank you," but a big step for me. You see... I love to be active on my lunch breaks. I love to go for a walk or hit the gym. It makes me feel better, gives me energy, and puts a smile on my face. So, when faced with a lunch invitation that doesn't involve moment... I usually panic.
This time, I said, "no thank you" and I feel good about it. I honored me by putting my needs first over someones potential momentary discomfort over having one of several people decline the invitation.
I think this is a good step for me, and I'm happy I was the cause of my DOD.
Way to go me ;) way to go.
